Learning design vacancy

This position is for applicants who live in the Western Cape.

The TTA, premium providers of online, offline and designed training for technology in education, is looking for an Educational Technology Learning Designer to be part of the growing team of in-house, rockstar employees. 

The main purpose of this position is to collaborate on the curriculum design for offline and online courses in education and technology related content, as well as develop, write, edit and revise all course material to ensure that it aligns with sound pedagogy and learning design principles.

The role also requires frequent research and testing to drive innovation in the field of technology in education.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with external stakeholders, and schools to design the curriculum for online and offline courses in education and technology related content
  • Work according to briefs delivered by the Business Development department to draft proposals and attend meetings relating to the development of new courses or programmes

  • On occasion, the role will require onsite delivery of training

  • Conceptualise, research, write and develop all course content and activities to ensure that they align with the TTA’s learning design methodology, in collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders

  • Manage deliverable timelines with the external stakeholder’s and manager to ensure alignment with internal project timelines

  • Review and edit all course content written by external stakeholders to ensure alignment with the TTA’s approach to learning design  

  • Test new approaches to learning design and contribute to general innovation within the department

  • Collaborate with team members to refine processes and contribute to team and individual development

 

Job requirements

  • A University degree in Education. Experience and keen interest in the role of Technology in Education. Education experience would be beneficial

  • Experience in copywriting and proofreading

  • Exposure to or a demonstrated interest in Technology in education

  • Teaching experience, curriculum design or content development experience would be preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer literacy, including competence in using word processing and internet browsing applications, as well as email management

  • Experience in project management would be beneficial
